SELVAGEM WAYS OF KNOWING LAB (LAS)
Experiences involving schools and universities in search of more loving and wild teaching practices.
In what ways does the school integrate the territory into its learning experiences, recognizing and communicating ancestral knowledge in the schooling process of children and teachers?
The question does not seek single answers, but rather shifts in perspective. It invites us to observe how the territory enters the classroom, how children, young people, and teachers relate to the world around them, and how ancestral knowledge ceases to be a content and becomes practice, presence, and connection.
In 2026, the Selvagem Ways of Knowing Lab (LAS) carries out actions in the five Brazilian regions through workshops, educational field outings, teacher training, research, and university extension programs. The project strengthens the implementation of the Brazilian Law 11.645/2008 – which requires the inclusion of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous history and culture in Brazilian school curricula – and promotes dialogue between ancestral knowledge and contemporary education.
