CRISTINE TAKUÁ
Cristine Takuá is a thinker, apprentice midwife, and Maxakali Indigenous educator. She holds a degree in Philosophy from UNESP and taught for twelve years at the Txeru Ba’e Kuai’ Indigenous State School. She is currently the coordinator of the Living Schools and a member of Selvagem, cycle of studies about life. Cristine Takuá represents the NEI (Indigenous Education Center) within the São Paulo State Department of Education and is a founding member of FAPISP (Forum for the Coordination of Indigenous Teachers of São Paulo State). She is also part of Instituto Maracá, which is involved in the shared management of the Museu das Culturas Indígenas in São Paulo. She lives in the Ribeirão Silveira Indigenous Land, located on the border between the municipalities of Bertioga and São Sebastião.
VERONICA PINHEIRO
Veronica Pinheiro is a brincante, a teacher in Rio de Janeiro's municipal public school system and holds a master's degree in Arts and Contemporary Culture from the Graduate Programme in Arts at Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). She researches Afro-Pindoramic Confluences and counter-colonial education. She has been a member of the Selvagem team since 2023, coordinating the Ways of Knowing group.
