Workshop 1
Traces, the dialogue between traditional art and urban intervention in the search for cultural and territorial belonging in Ceará’s Cariri region
24/04 to 24/05
Workshop facilitator: Franklin Lacerda
The workshop proposes an immersion in contemporary artistic practices that bring together art, territory, and urban intervention, taking Crato as a living field of experimentation, in dialogue with Selvagem materials such as the Ancestral Memories cycle, the film Gathering Pieces of Legend [Catar Cacos de Lenda] and the notebooks All in Memory, Collective Practices of Living Schools and Our Body Is Our Ground.
Students are invited to listen to the territory and express themselves through it. Each image, gesture, and mark is not placed as something external, but as an imprint of the place itself – a way of making visible what is already alive in the streets, landscapes, and memories of Cariri.
By bringing together painting, drawing, and visual practices in urban spaces, the workshop proposes an immersion into contemporary creative processes that bring art and everyday life closer together, strengthening youth authorship and cultural and territorial bonds.
