The workshop aligns with an idea of education in which the territory is the primary space of learning, where knowledge is built through relationships between generations, around the fire, by the riverbank, and through coexistence with elders. The proposal recognizes elders as teachers and sustains orality, the body, and experience as pedagogical foundations, in dialogue with thoughts present in the notebooks Pytun Jera, Night Blossom and Sandra Benites’s Body-Territory series: Our Body Is Our Ground, We Are That Ground That Carries and Takes Everything Along and Memory Demarcates Our Body.
Led by Kaingang leaders and elders, the experience proposes an immersion into knowledge connected to traditional food practices, fishing, and relationships with land and water, strengthening cultural bonds and expanding recognition of the school as a space for the continuity of community life. The proposal also dialogues with reflections present in All in Memory, which understands memory as a collective technology for the transmission of knowledge, and with Collective Practices of Living Schools, by recognizing learning as a community and territorial experience deeply connected to ancestral ways of life.
